Giving Away my Birthday

You guys, the waiting list is moving FAST! We just found out that we are now #21!!!! That's literally insane! I don't even know what to do with myself. I just called my mom and she said, "Jessica, you're about to be a MOM and I'm about to be a GRANDMA!" Wow, things are getting real.

I was already planning on doing some sort of fundraiser around my birthday, but this just confirmed that I need to Get. On. It. Like. Now. Last year we had a yard sale with small group, and this year I've decided to take one out of Charity Water's playbook and give away my birthday.

How you might ask, can one give away their birthday? Well, keep reading and I'll tell you.

Charity Water has a really simple approach - 1) Pledge your birthday 2) Start a campaign 3) Give people clean water. Pretty easy, right?!  So here we go...

Pledge

So today, one month before my 26th birthday, I am hereby pledging my birthday, which is May 7th.

Campaign

This part is a little more difficult because people don't normally give gifts to each other after, let's say, your 21st birthday. Usually I just get something from my parents, in-laws, and Jason. But this year, I'm asking for a gift from YOU! Yes, YOU! Help us bring Judah home.

Travel to Ethiopia costs roughly $2,500 per person for one trip. And there are two of us, and we have to go twice. That means travel will be approximately $10,000!

Give

So for my birthday, I'm asking for anyone who reads this to pray about and consider giving $26 (one dollar for every year of my life) toward our travel expenses to Ethiopia.

Aren't you glad I'm only turning 26?! Just kidding, feel free to give more, or less :)

Below is a donation button for PayPal for you to give an online donation. This donation goes straight to the Morales Family's adoption fund.

We are so thankful to all of our friends and family who have already so generously given to our adoption fund - whether it be financially, through words of encouragement, or in prayer. We love each of you and are so thankful for the beautiful gift of friendship that God has given us. We look forward to someday introducing you to our little blessing.
