Mommy Wallet

Ahh, September is finally here. It's literally my favorite month of the year and I am just giddy thinking about it. But I'm sure I'll post more on my love of Septembers later on, so let's jump right into this week's Friday Favorites!

For the last several years I have been extremely particular about my wallet. It needed to hold all of my credit cards/gift cards/membership cards, be easy to open and close, be cute (obviously), and be well made and durable. I've shelled out a lot of money on wallets over the last 10 years are so, which is why it makes me so excited to share my newest find with you because it's under $40!!

When Brighten was born I invested in a very flat Michael Kors wallet that would easily fit in the front pocket of her diaper bag with room to spare. But now, with her approaching her first birthday and also going to Parent's Day Out several days per week, I don't need to carry her diaper big with me everywhere we go. So I was getting my wallet in and out, and then trying to carry my phone and keys with it, and also my child. I began to feel like I was forever leaving my phone or keys somewhere, so I knew that it was time to find a different solution.

Enter the Joy Susan Brushed Mini Convertible Zip Wristlet! I've never been much of a fan of the wristlet, but this also comes with a long strap that can turn it into a cross body bag, so that made me more confident in my purchase. I got the "whiskey" color, but there are so many to choose from. Even though I thought I'd end up using the cross body strap frequently, I actually haven't taken it out of the plastic it came in and instead I've only used the wristlet strap.

What I like about this clutch/wallet/wristlet/cross body:

  1. There's room for everything inside. In the bigger pouch there is a pocket for cash or random stuff, a zipper pocket, six credit card slots, and plenty of room for my keys, phone, mints, gum, etc. In the smaller pouch, there are three credit card slots and room for my phone, lipgloss, a pen, or my keys. Currently, I have all of the card slots full, with my driver's license and most used cards in the small pouch. In the large pouch I also have a little bit of cash, mints, my keys, and my phone. In the smaller pouch I currently have the card slots full, a lip gloss, chapstick, lipstick, and two pens.

  2. It fits nicely into other bags. Typically I keep this wallet in the back pocket of B's diaper bag, but it's also great to throw in my work bag when I have a meeting, or our swim bag when we are going to the pool. I can also easily carry it by itself when it's just me and I don't need the diaper bag or when we are just running in somewhere really quick.
  3. It fits everything, but it's not bulky. While I can fit my phone, keys, lip gloss, pens, credit cards, cash - basically everything into this wallet, somehow it's still not bulky. That's a must since I want to be able to carry it in other bags or by itself while I'm holding Brighten. It's also not very heavy, which is also really nice. Everything is distributed nicely.

I've been using this wallet for about a month and I just think it's fantastic. I purchased mine from At Home in Homewood, but you'd an also buy it online (although I think it's about $10 cheaper in the store).

Make sure to head on over to the Joy Susan website or head into At Home this weekend snag one of these awesome wallets for yourself.
