I've been searching for a way to cut my hair routine time down for years. I love my hair long, but it takes F O R E V E R to style. My hair is fine, but I have a lot of it. It typically takes about 30 minutes to dry and style my hair if I straighten it and longer if I curl it. This mama don't got time for that!
Guess what?! Guest post!! Get excited because today you'll be hearing from my cousin-in-law (Jason's cousin), Audra. Audra and I have only met once in person when we were in California earlier this year, but I feel like we've been friends for years. Her daughter and Brighten are close in age, and it's been so wonderful to have someone with a little girl just a few months ahead of us. Since most of our friendship has developed over email and Facebook Messenger, we laughed a lot at each other's accents when we finally got to meet this year! Audra grew up in New England, and I grew up in Northwest Florida. It was a good time and Jason and I look forward to visiting Audra and her sweet family in Massachusetts sometime soon!
One of the podcasts that I listen to every week has been sponsored by Harry's for years and years. I've loved the idea of supporting a business like Harry's that appreciates good quality in life's mundane tasks, like shaving. But Harry's has always been marketed toward men. So, I've gifted their products to my dad, my father-in-law, and of course Jason has a Harry's razor. But for some reason I'd never thought to try Harry's for myself until I realized that I actually shave much more often than Jason does, but my razor was not nearly as nice as his.
I'm all about a gimmick and I'll try just about any product at least once. So when my friend, Melanie, began selling Monat hair products, of course I had to see what all the fuss was about.
Since I work from home now, I don't really blow dry my hair often. Unless I have somewhere to be first thing in the morning, I have time to let my hair air dry. The problem is, when my hair air dries it's a little wonky and any product I've found tends to clump together as it tries. Enter - Don't Blow It. I love a good hair product and this one is perfect for my air drying needs. It doesn't clump up as it dries and it just helps me obtain a sort of messy but not frizzy look. This product is a little pricey at $30 for the large bottle at Sephora, but if you're air drying your hair this is the only product you need!
For 24.5 years, I believed I had to wash my hair every. single. day. If I didn't wash my hair, it was up in a ponytail on top of my head and I looked a mess. But after working 5 days a week for several years, I was really tired of having to spend 60-75 minutes getting ready every morning. So, I decided to try out dry shampoo.
Happy Friday! Is it just me or did this week fly by? It's been a while since I've had a full week in the office at work due to being sick, snow/ice days, or just random meetings so I feel like I had a lot of catching up to do.
In my family, I'm known as "Gadget Girl". Even before Jason (aka Mr. Apple Guy) and I started dating and got married, I always had the newest technology, and a gadget for everything. At the end of the day, that's what I've always chosen to save up my money and splurge on. Because of that, I thought I'd start doing a "Friday Favorites" post when I can to talk about what I'm using, the latest gadget I have, and things that just make my life easier.
